Being a business owner who follows Christ makes us servant leaders. Jesus is our example. He came to earth to serve, not to be served. If He was willing to wash His disciples’ feet, we should be willing to serve our team, family, and those around us.

Our business shouldn’t be about the products we sell but about the people we serve. When we have something that can help another person, it is our duty to share what we know and give people the choice to see if it’s the right solution for them. This is a new way of thinking that I’m working on.

If we think of the best interest of the other person, then we are serving, not selling. It’s not persuading but sharing info so that the person can make an informed decision. Thinking of others first is the key to being a servant leader.

In the Believers Instruction Book: Living Edition, what examples of Jesus as a servant leader can you think of?

Prayer

Dear God in heaven,

Thank You for sending Jesus as our example of a servant leader. Help us to follow His lead in humbling ourselves to help those who can’t help themselves. Give us the courage to do what You want us to do to serve others so You be glorified.

 In Your Son’s name, Amen
