As mentioned in the post, “Time Management,” a daily routine is helpful in saving time for other activities or the activities become more productive. When Scott first started his business, he followed Michael Hyatt, author and business leader, who recommended a set of four daily routines.

An evening routine: Do things to get a good night’s rest for energy for tomorrow and to set up for a successful day.

A morning routine: Do things to help you win the day, be energetic, and give you a positive mindset to be more resourceful.

A workday start routine: Do emails and social media only in the first 30 minutes not throughout the day. This should help you get important tasks done.

A workday end routine: Do things that will let you leave work behind and not bring them home so that you will be able to focus on your family, health, hobbies, or other important matters.

Don’t forget to evaluate your routines to make sure they are working for you. Try every other month or once a quarter to check if you need to stop doing something or start doing something else.

I have a three page PDF of the four daily routines, which I called rituals, available so you can print it out and place it where you can be reminded to do your daily routines. Just let me know if you want it by sending a message from my About Page or to our email below.

  Song

The Motions“ by Matthew West is a song to remind us not to make our daily routines into a rut, that we are not just doing them. We have schedules to make good use of our time.

 Call to Action

If you have already prayed, looked up the verses in your Bible, and listened to the suggested song, then create a schedule of all the tasks that need to be done in the morning.
