I can’t believe that this blog has been up for a year already! I’m getting better at not worrying about a post not being “perfect” enough to publish or whether I get a post out in time. I’m just doing the best that I can with the time and resources I have.

I was on the west coast last week but my computer was still on central time, so it looked like my post was a day late. The compulsive side of me would want to change the posting date but I have decided that it is more important to get the post out than when it is posted.

There are a lot of distractions and some days I don’t make good choices but I don’t dwell on those days. I look forward to making better decisions in the future using what I learned from the bad choices.

Looking back this past year, I’ve grown in the fruit of the spirit. Love was in abundance but self-control was few. How about you? Did you get into the habit of reading the Bible daily from the post “Reading Daily”? Did you find out your spiritual gift from the post “Super Power”? Are you closer to your goals because of taking action (mostly from “Moving Forward” post)?

I look forward to continuing this journey with you of growing in faith to know more about God and becoming more like Christ!

 Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for giving us all we need to live a godly life. Help us to add to our faith excellence, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly affection, and love for everyone. May our lives bring You glory.

In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart

Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before others

Galatians 5:22-23 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

2 Peter 1:3-8 God has given us everything we need to live a godly life so that we can be more productive and useful in knowing Jesus.

 Song

Ready Set Growby Bob Hauch is a song written for a Lutheran school so it is perfect to remind us to grow spiritually.

 Call to action

If you have already prayed, looked up the verses in your Bible, and listened to the suggested song, then take time to look back to see what has worked in growing your faith and continue doing that. Then see what has not worked and experiment with something different to move forward in knowing God more.
