The Believers Instruction Book: Living Edition doesn’t have a lot to say about how to do business, but it does have principles and examples that we could put into practice in our business. The way Jesus started His ministry is a good example of how to build my direct sales business.

Jesus started His ministry by inviting people to come and see. Basically He was asking them to spend time with Him. He invited ordinary people and it was their decision to join or not. Since He invited ordinary people, He used ordinary language. He spoke in a way that ordinary people could understand.

Serving others was one of the reasons Jesus came down from heaven. Wherever He went, He served others. He was focused on the people He encountered instead of Himself or on material things.

Jesus also asked a lot of questions. He is God so He already knows the answers. The questions were for those He asked and those listening to really think of the answer. The questions were challenging and meant to help the listener to grow spiritually and closer to God by starting deep conversations.

From Jesus’ example, I invite people to learn more about my products/services. I don’t go into details about my products/services but ask questions to see how I can be of service. I’m learning to ask questions to get conversations going and to get to know others more. I practiced on the people I know and then when God brings new people into my life, I practice on them when the time is right. I need a lot of practice.

 Prayer

Dear God in heaven,

You are a good God. Thank you for sending Jesus so that we can have an example of how we should live. Help me care for others more than I care for myself. Give me wisdom to know how to serve others so that they can see Jesus in me.

 In Your Son’s name, Amen
