It’s difficult to get back to business after being gone for a while. We were away for only two weeks and after two weeks of catching up on household chores and other personal matters, I’m just finally getting into a normal schedule.

I had to look at my previous posts to remind myself about “Daily Routines,” “Time Management,” the “Perfect Time,” and “Moving Forward.” It was a good time to check my priorities and remember the reason for starting a business.

I decided that working on my business was not as high on the priority list as family, friends, and writing. At least during this holiday season. I’ll be putting more time and effort on this blog and writing for others. I’m happy to report that one of my articles will be published in a magazine early next year.

It was hard for Scott to get back to his routine, too. We were still on Pacific Time so stayed up late which meant we got up late the next morning. It’s also hard for him to do business after his medical appointments because it takes a lot out of him. So he would give himself permission to take it easy the rest of the day. This last appointment he needed several days to unwind. But he’s back to work with an interview to prepare for, too.

The faster we get back to a routine the better. But don’t get too hard on yourself if it takes a bit longer than expected. Just don’t take too long because then the momentum will be gone. Just one task a day that makes you move forward in your business is much better than doing nothing.

Prayer

Dear God in heaven,

Thank You for giving us opportunities to get away from our daily routines to visit family and friends. We appreciate all the people You bring into our lives to bless us. May we be a blessing to them, too. Help us to do Your will and partner with You in the plans You have for us.

 In Your Son’s name, Amen

 Call to Action

If you have already prayed, looked up the verses in your Bible, and listened to the suggested song, then go back and check your priorities. See if they need changing or not. Next, remember why you are in business. Does it match up with your priorities?
