It’s the last month of the year already! I know I gave myself permission (see “Getting Back” post) to work less on my business during the holidays but it seems I was still able to meet my minimum goals while working only three days a week instead of every weekday. It could be my experimentation with a new emailing tool and that I wasn’t really selling anything.

I decided to let businesses know about the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Reporting and the advice given to help keep one’s personal information safe on the internet. Most LLCs and corporations will need to report information about its beneficial owners to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Most people know about steps to take to keep their identity secure on the web but don’t take the time to do it. I had to be officially notified to take those steps.

So I’ve been sending out friendly reminders to report a BOI before the end of the year, to freeze their credit report, and to set up a personal social security account. There are tools out there to help businesses send out information for free. Of course, the more you and I use their tools, there is a greater likelihood that we’ll upgrade to their paid version.

Speaking of getting paid, I was asked if I get paid on my blog. I answered that it would be nice but I didn’t like the idea of having ads all over my website. I would rather have donations or sponsorships or just one page with resources to purchase but I haven’t gotten that far yet. What would you suggest?

Prayer

Dear God in heaven,

Thank you for the season to focus on others instead of ourselves. Help our businesses to shine Your light as the days grow darker. May we remember to serve others first instead of just selling.

 In Your Son’s name, Amen

  Song

Courageous“ by Casting Crowns is a song for men but we as business owners need to be courageous, too. We do what we do for our family. We need a different mindset to take rejection from others who don’t understand. This song was also used to promote a movie with the same title.

 Call to Action

If you have already prayed, looked up the verses in your Bible, and listened to the suggested song, then make sure if you need to report a BOI before the end of the year or freeze your credit report from all three major credit bureaus.
