Most successful business owners have a business coach. Scott is a business coach and he also had a business coach because he knew that he can be too close to his business that he needs another set of eyes to see a different perspective. The Believers Instruction Book: Living Edition, especially the book of Proverbs, is a great resource for business owners. It gives many principles for business and for life.
Business owners are leaders. We lead our team, our family, and ourselves. The Book of Proverbs was written by King Solomon. He took over after King David. God gave Solomon a wise and discerning mind superior to any before or after him. He wrote over 3000 proverbs and some are included in the book of Proverbs.
According to King Solomon, the purpose of the book of Proverbs is to teach us wisdom and how to live disciplined, successful lives that are right, just, and fair. These are great characteristics of a successful business owner. So, reading the book of Proverbs is like reading a manual from a life coach that covers everything from running a business, marriage, parenting, and other events that come up in life.
Here are just a few examples of what we can learn from the book of Proverbs. This shouldn’t have to be stated but it is in the book. A false balance and dishonest business practices are offensive to the Lord, but an accurate scale is His delight. Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time. Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.
Hope this post gets you to join us in reading a chapter from the book of Proverbs each day next month of March. Let us know you’re in so we can give you the details.
