What is a miracle? The Merriam-Webster dictionary has two definitions. The first one is an extraordinary event as a sign of the supernatural power of God. The second is just an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment.

With those definitions, we should be able to see miracles all the time. God is a god of miracles. In the Bible, God performed signs and wonders and showed His power. Does God give signs that He is at work in our world today? Does He inspire wonder? Have we seen, with our own eyes, His power displayed around us?

We were at the Grand Canyon a couple of months ago. It was an amazing sight. As we drove West, we saw a beautiful sunset on the horizon. Whenever there is a severe storm or tornado in the area, I am amazed at the many times that the direction is towards a less populated area so that there is less destruction.

Jesus said that believers would do even greater things than He did. If God is the same as He was in the past, then He is still a god of miracles.

 Prayer

Almighty God in heaven,

Thank You for being active in our daily lives. Help us to see You throughout our days. May we be used by You to bring miracles to those who need them.

In Jesus’ name, Amen

  Song

Same God” by Elevation Worship is a song that reminds me of the miracles in the past and that He can do miracles now. Last week’s song had a title that would fit this post but the lyrics wouldn’t fit.
