I have to admit that I wasn’t consistent with marketing because in my mind, I thought I was selling and I wasn’t good at selling so I just didn’t sell. In fact, just like this blog, I didn’t tell people about my products or my posts.
When I first started my business, I didn’t use Jesus’ strategies. I just followed what I was trained to do. I did get customers but I didn’t feel comfortable doing what I was told to do so I ended up not getting customers for long periods of time.
Now that I’ve learned about being a servant leader, I’m experimenting with doing different things to share what I know. Just having a new mindset about serving instead of selling helps me a lot. So marketing is just letting others know that we are available to help them.
Some of the things I’m experimenting with is using social media and email for marketing. I’ve decided on one platform and a variety of posts. The plan is to get people curious, provide value, ask questions, learn more about them, and invite them to learn more about my stuff.
I’m still learning and moving forward. Do you have a marketing plan? I was told the best plan is the one that you actually do.

Now that I’m beginning to start my health coaching business, I’m starting to work on marketing. I keep procrastinating because, in all honesty, it feels volunrable. But I do consider this my calling & ministry so in order for that to happen, people have to actually know about me. I imagine it’s the same for you. Keep following the Holy Spirit and He will make your paths straight. Praying for you!
Congratulations on starting a business. I believe you will do well because you’re following the Holy Spirit and know how to wear different hats.
Having the right mindset that marketing is not selling and that selling is actually serving helped me with moving forward a lot. I’m still learning.
